every once and a while, california ignites and the skies become a weird sepia tone and the sun turns a bright orange. a weird lens on the world, on the state associated most with utopia. the palms are my favorite tree, iconic. a symbol of california even though they aren’t native. so i shot them with the dystopian sun and it felt ghostly, like a post apocalyptic world. like a warning. the next day poof! nothing but blue skies, warm breezes. the dream
